Thanks for visiting our website. My name is Jon Fleming and I am one of the owners of Vinylume.
Vinylume is a family owned business started by my father, Joseph Fleming, back in 1951. After serving four years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, my father returned to his hometown of White Plains, N.Y., and immediately took a job as a roofer.
A few months later, he got his first roofing contractor's license and went into business for himself.
It wasn't long before he expanded into the siding business, doing his first job in 1953.
During the 1950s and 1960s, Fleming Roofing and Siding Company (as it was known then) installed aluminum siding on hundreds of homes throughout the Westchester and Fairfield County areas.
When vinyl siding was first introduced in this area back in 1967, my father did some of the very first installations.
In 1970, he changed the name of the company to Vinylume, as the popularity of vinyl siding took hold.
Over the past 25 years, my brother, Don, and I have worked alongside my father, growing the business while adhering to our family values of hard work, honesty, attention to detail and efficient service.
In 1980, we expanded our product line to include installation of replacement windows and entry doors. We are now the most widely used company in our market area when it comes to the installation of high quality vinyl replacement windows.
